Hosts:

Hello, and welcome to the Big Deep Podcast. Big Deep is a podcast about people who have a connection to the ocean, people for whom that connection is so strong, it defined some aspect of their life. Over the course of the series, we'll talk to all sorts of people. Then each episode we'll explore the deeper meaning of that connection. Welcome to our first podcast where we're going to tell you what you can expect over the course of the first season. Hello, this is Paul Kelway, and I'm Jason Elias. Welcome to the big deep podcast.

Jason Elias:

Hi, and welcome to our new podcast, Big Deep. My name is Jason Elias and I'm Paul Kelway. We wanted to tell you a little today about what you can expect in this, Our first season of big deep. Big Deep is our podcast about people who have a deep connection to our world's oceans, connections strong enough that they have dedicated some part of their lives to being in or working on behalf of the water.

Paul Kelway:

Through their stories. We get to explore the ocean from many very different perspectives. So who did we talk to?We spoke to the most interesting people we could find from Marine biologists to underwater criminal investigators.

Jason Elias:

Dive masters who have dived exotic locations around the world to award winning free dive photographers. We talked with cave divers and nuclear power plant divers. We heard from media personalities at the forefront of the conversation around diving and spoke with a woman so connected to the water that she actually became a mermaid.

Paul Kelway:

We also spoke with scientists working to study and protect our ocean and its inhabitants, from a Marine biologist who took a research sub to one of the deepest spots in the ocean to a behavior ecologist at the forefront of efforts to decode the language of sperm whales.

Jason Elias:

In essence, we spoke with people like us, people who have some deep feeling for the water. And that's also who this podcast is for. People who like us feel fuller, more genuine, somehow complete when they are in the water.

Paul Kelway:

So we invite you to join us on this journey as we explore the world's oceans to the stories of people who love it. Welcome to the Big Deep podcast.

Jason Elias:

Subscribe now and stay tuned big, deep. We'll be premiering this November.
